Dr. Bob’s Home – A national historic landmark, Dr. Bob’s Home is a historic house museum located at the Northwest corner of Ardmore and Everett Avenues and within walking distance of Berrodin Bed & Breakfast. Built in 1914, it was the home of Dr. Robert Smith, a successful surgeon who himself struggled with alcoholism. It was in this home that “Dr. Bob” developed the fundamental ideas of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), taking his own journey on the 12 steps to recovery and solidifying his place in history as the Founder of AA. This well-preserved and humble home provides feelings of oneness with the spirit of AA, gratitude, and hope for individuals who are either recovering or have recovered from alcohol addiction.
Berrodin B&B holds a special place in our hearts for those recovering from the disease of alcoholism. We offer special blessings and Christian fellowship to all those who “come home” and who enter our doors. Be sure to book reservations early with us for Founder’s Day held each June.
